Setting up a Taylor 45B

Postby murrayjohn » Tue Mar 28, 2017 7:56 pm

I recently bought a Taylor 45B & all seems fine with many of the valves I use. Twin triodes, power pentodes etc. But I'd like to be able to configure it to test & match High Gm pentodes like the D3a or 6J52. Can anyone advise what the 3 digit code should be? I have the Valve data book & instructions but the tester indicates pitifully low conductance even from unused valves. Also, is it possible to configure it for twin triodes such as 2C51 (5670) where the filament is applied on pins 1 & 9? Or are these valves too new?

This is not an answer to your question of course, but very high Gm tubes can not always be tested on any tester.
