EL61 Information

Postby Allan » Wed Feb 13, 2013 2:46 am

Hello Everyone.

I am looking for information about the EL61 pentode. Does anyone have a copy of the complete Philips datasheet that they could upload or email to me? I would like to find all of the data for this elusive tube: maximum voltages & currents, performance curves, etc.

From what I understand, the EL61 is closer to an EL5/375 than it is to an EL60. The EL60 is the Loctal-base version of the EL34. None of the EL5 versions are remotetly close to the performance of the EL34.

I figured that if Philips manufactured the EL61, there must be a datasheet somewhere.

Thank you.

OK, well I did some more searching and found some information here: http://www.hupse.eu/radio/tubes/IndexValves.htm

I looked up the specifications of some associated tubes. With the exception of the Loctal base, the EL61 is identical to the P8-based EL5/375 & 4689. The AL5/375 & 4688 (4-Volt heaters, P8-bases) are also identical. They all share the characteristics below.

Va Vs Vg mAa mAs ra gm Pdiss Pout D
250 250 -16 72 7,5 33,000 7 18 7.7 10%

And when used in a Class AB circuit:
Va Vs Vg mAa mAs ra gm Pdiss Pout d
375 275 -8.75 48(62) 5(9) 33,000 7 18 28.5 2.3%

The closest thing to finding performance curves is the attached image. None of my datasheets for the above tubes have any curves listed. The search continues...
